ICAR-Mizoram Centre conducted three day’s training programme on “Entrepreneurship development through ginger cultivation for nutritional security and socio economic upliftment of Mizo tribal farmers” under AICRP Spice project.

        A training programme on “Entrepreneurship development through ginger cultivation for nutritional security and socio economic upliftment of Mizo tribal farmers” was organized by ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Mizoram Centre, Kolasib under AICRP Spice Project from 03rd to 05th March, 2025. A total of 51 selected farmers (42 Female and 9 Male) from Thingdawl and Kolasib town have attended the training program. Experts (scientists and YPs) gave presentations on production techniques and crop improvement aspects of major spice crops of Mizoram (with special reference to ginger), Integrated farming system to enhance crop production and farm income, pest and insect management, soil health management, composting techniques and ongoing projects under AICRP Spice . Vermicomposting, poultry units and IFS were also demonstrated. All of the farmers received backpack sprayers. The training was coordinated by Dr. Vanlalruati, Sr. Scientist (Horti-Flori.), Dr. Lungmuana, Sr. Scientist (Soil Sc.), Dr. Lalhruaipuii, Sr. Scientist (Vety, Micro.), Mr. P.L. Lalrinsanga, Scientist (Aquaculture) and Dr. Blessa Sailo, Sr. Scientist (Vety, Public Health).
